Guidelines for PRINT POSTERS
Poster guidelines for the print version of your poster are very general. The poster boards are 4x4 feet square. Your poster can cover the entire space or whatever portion of the space you choose, but should not exceed the board size.
Presenters also have many options for preparing posters. We always have great variety in poster presentations from those which are assembled from multiple pieces created on small-format printers to 4x4 ft. versions printed on large-format poster printers.
We realize not all participants have the resources to use the large-format printers: Attractive, easy to read posters can be achieved with either method mentioned in the paragraph above. Push pins are provided on site to attach your poster to the cork boards.
We encourage students and postdocs to work with their faculty mentors in creating their posters. This can be a great learning experience as you prepare for presentations at future professional meetings in your discipline.
Where to find large format poster printers
Remember, large format printing is not required (see above section). For those who wish to use large format printing, several departments and schools at MU have large format printers (Animal Sciences/Vet Med, Plant Sciences, Biological Sciences, and perhaps others). Your IT Pro will know if that is available in your area. In some cases, printing jobs are only accepted from people in that department or division, and there usually are fees charged for the service.
If your department does not offer this service, large format printing is also available on a fee-for-service basis at these locations that we are aware of:
